Alberta Judiciary
Appointed judges across Alberta's court hierarchy — including appointment dates, known leanings, and notable rulings.
Court of Justice
Handles the vast majority of cases in Alberta — summary criminal offences, family law, civil claims under $100,000, youth justice, and traffic matters. Judges are recommended by a provincial judicial appointments committee and appointed by the Alberta Cabinet. No jury trials at this level. The court sits in communities across the province, making it the most accessible point of entry into the justice system for most Albertans.
